Can I do Pilates in Early Pregnancy?

Pilates is a great way to stay active and strong through your pregnancy, but there can be some confusion around is it safe to do Pilates in early pregnancy. Let us help answer your questions and provide some insight into practising Pilates in your first trimester and beyond.

In terms of whether Pilates is safe during early pregnancy, there are no reasons you should avoid or feel nervous about attending a Pilates class during your first trimester. During the first trimester, the body undergoes a lot of changes but structurally there isn’t as much change early on compared to when your bub continues to grow through the second and third trimesters. As long as you are feeling comfortable and let’s be honest, have enough energy and aren’t feeling too sick, then you don’t have to be concerned about is Pilates safe during early pregnancy.
