Helen Frederikson
Osteopath, Clinical Pilates Instructor and Watson Headache Practitioner
Helen is an experienced and thoughtful practitioner who strives to get to the root cause of her patients complaints and to help guide them to achieve their recovery goals through hands on treatment, patient education and exercise rehabilitation.
Helen enjoys treating every type of patient who walks in the door but has a particular passion for treating those suffering from chronic pain conditions, women’s health conditions, headaches, migraines, vertigo, and orofacial pain. Helen strongly believes in patient education and in providing appropriate tools to patients to enable them to manage their condition on their own.
Helen was drawn to a career in osteopathy in her 20s after struggling with headaches, neck pain and jaw pain following a whiplash injury as a teenager. Helen graduated from Unitec in Auckland, New Zealand with a Bachelor of applied science degree and a Masters of Osteopathy. She chose to complete her masters qualification in osteopathic treatment for chronic temporomandibular disorders due to her own personal experience and has found this to be of great value when treating patients with similar complaints. She is trained in the Watson Headache approach which is specifically designed for those suffering from chronic headaches and migraines.
Helen is a friendly and enthusiastic Osteopath who finds great joy in helping others. Originally from New Zealand, Helen has made Melbourne her home and lives in Bayside with her two young children.
Helen treats on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon and Friday as well as teaching our Clinical Exercise classes on a Friday morning.
